Abstract
Over the past decade, the study of ties between China and Latin America has gained traction in the field of Latin American History. However, this topic seldom piqued the curiosity of modern Chinese historians. The prevailing notion was that events in distant regions, like Latin America, had little impact on modern China's trajectory. This talk, instead, explores how the notions of periphery" and "experiment" can foster dialogue between historians of Latin America and modern China in the context of the Global Cold War.
